Our newest venture
We are getting ready to team up with some amazing folks and start writing our first feature film. I don’t want to spoil anything, but it will combine three genres of film that will be awesome together.
UPDATES
Hey all,
Sorry I have been so lax with updating the website. Hang in there. a lot of updates will be coming soon.
Killer Assistant news and film festival stuff
So I have been very lax in updating this page. So much has happened. First of which we finished my newest film Killer Assistant. (poster below) We have already started it’s journey on the Film Festival Circuit. We had our world premier at the fabulous Crimson Screen Horror Film Festival in May. We just got our second acceptance letter for another fest. SO things are looking good.
We also made a promo video for a contest for this year’s Crimson. And I am glad to say we took home the Crimmy (their amazing award and photo below) for best promo video.
Also lastly we made a 60 second horror film to enter in the 60 Second Horror Film Challenge called Lana. https://www.facebook.com/events/429913817790703/
And we were accepted into the finals that will take place June 22. Super excited
Long Overdue Update
Hi Everyone,
So here is a long overdue update for what is currently happening in the world of Turn A Phrase Films. Our last two films from the festival circuit, Lake Moultrie Massacre and Puppy, both secured distribution deals. Both films were signed to a non-exclusive deal with ShortsTV. Lake Moultrie has already premiered and Puppy will be soon. Lake Moultrie also has second deal with https://www.13horror.com You can rent it on their Horror Theater.
Our last short film, Fallen, which was part of an Anthology film in collaboration with 6 other filmmakers, is still on the festival circuit. We hope to have a distribution deal for it when it gets done with the festival run.
And lastly we have started pre-production on our next project. It is called Killer Assistant. We are collaborating with Eternal Ground Films and Octopunk Media. And we will be making the casting announcement along with social media and crowdfunding launches next week.
Crimson Screen Horror Film Festival
So the CSHFF was this past weekend. And we at TAPF had two movies show. Puppy and Lake Moultrie Massacre. Both were very well received. We were in fact lucky enough to take home two awards. Puppy took home 1st Runner Up in Audience choice and received a really cool plaque. While Lake Moultrie Massacre took home the Crimmy Award for Audience Choice. So we could not be more proud of the two films. Here are some pictures from the weekend.
AWARDS
So we have our first award. lake Moultrie Massacre was a semi-finalist at the Bloody Horror International Film Festival. And they gave us an Award of Merit for Best Supporting Actor to David Graham. He plays the crazy old man in Lake Moultrie Massacre. He did an amazing job. Congrats David.
More Film Festivals
So we have found out that Puppy will be playing May 12th during the 9pm block at the Die Laughing Film Festival in Los Angeles. Get out and see it.
